Literacy week
What?
This week was literacy week. We did many things such as a Scavenger hunt, Dress up day, Stop drop and write, Stop drop and read, Golden ticket, Library activities, Guess the teacher, Guess the book, Soraya Nicholas - visitor author.
So what?
The thing I enjoyed the most was stop drop and write because you can use your imagination and write as much as you want every time I wrote 2 pages every time that is pretty impressive.Friday, 23 September 2016
Oaklands School future
This is mine and Matina's design for the future of Oaklands school. We have made a picnic area which we want in the future of Oaklands school. We have also made a rubbish bin. We liked the idea to add in monkey bars and flowers.

This week me and Matina made a project for the future of Oaklands school
So what
we have created a picnic area for the Kauri team and the Kakano team. We have also made a rubbish bin beside the picnic tables so once you have finished the your food you can pit it in the bin. While your eating you can do the monkey bars to.

Me and Matina hope our design will be at oaklands in 2018

Word Study - Blog 1 term 3
What?
I am learning to understand how words are formed using roots, prefixes and suffixes.
So What?
I have learned that words that have the root hydra- and aqua- mean water. For example hydra - hydration
I have learned that words that have the root spect- mean look / see. For example spect - prospect
Now what?
I feel that I have a(beginning, good, really good, spectacular, an excellent) understanding of the root words aqua-, hydra-, and spect-

Writing reflection
WHAT?
This week I am reflecting on one of my writing goals
IALT: Improve my writing by learning how to:
* use a variety of sentence starters
This week I have been focusing on how to write a drop-in clause
SO WHAT?
Here is an example of a drop-in clause
Mr Forman is our teacher.
|
He loves his red car.
|
Mr Forman, who is our teacher, loves his red car.
|
Mr Forman is the subject of the sentence.
We change ‘He’ to ‘who’
We place commas around the clause we ‘drop-in’
MY EXAMPLES:
Here are two examples of a drop-in clause that I have created.
[1]Dania, who likes to play with her chickens, is awesome.
[2]The footballer, who was singing barbie girl, was kicking the ball.
NOW WHAT?

My writing goals for term 2
